The main instrument track for this was recorded about ten years ago. I deleted it from my computer thinking it was no good. I found it again on a disc a couple of years back and realized that actually it was good which was lucky since it was probably the only copy I'd made of it. Joe Woodward used that instrumental track in his production of Ich Bin Faust. I've since added some instruments and written the lyrics and recorded the vocal. As the name implies, it is based on the character of Renfield from Dracula. I always thought he was the saddest, the most tragic, and the most interesting character in the book.

His deadpan face stares up at the sky
The angry mob has got him on his knees

He is held in the hospital
He eats the insects and the birds
He writes in blood upon the walls

Seward watches through the observation trap
He notes the smile on Renfield's face
He records his thoughts on a phonograph
His patient is not a text book case

The Demeter moves across the waves
